I'd be happy to answer these questions
1. If you have 2 Uruk-hai and one is bearing
Broad-Bladed Sword, then
anything that would direct wounds to minions (whether archery wounds or cards like
Defend It and Hope)
must go automatically to the Uruk-hai who is not bearing the sword. If you had 3 Uruk-hai, with 1 bearing this sword, then you could choose between the two that do not have a sword, but in this case the wound would go directly to the single Uruk who is not protected.
2. Yes! As you can have up to 4 in your deck, each of these conditions would reduce the Fellowship Archery total by 1. If you had 4 on the table it would be -4.
3. You are playing correctly. When your fellowship is at a sanctuary, at the start of the turn, you may heal up to 5 wounds from your companions at no cost.
4. There were some new game mechanics that were added with set 7, primarily initiative and threats. These game mechanics are only present in some of the cards. For example, if you are using a Towers site path, and you wanted to play companions like
Arwen, Fair Elf Maiden, or
Gandalf, Defender of the West, these could theoretically be added to your decks without affecting anything, since you are playing within your own group. You could also incorporate cards that have these new game mechanics, but the site path wouldn't necessarily facilitate them.
If you DO have King block site path, with enough sites to play all sites from site 7, then you could simply play according to the Movie block format:

NOTE: X-listed means that card isn't allowed to be played....but since you guys aren't playing tournament level and are playing your own cards, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to include your Elrond or
Flaming Brand, etc...the x-list is more for keeping power cards under control in a competitive gaming atmosphere.
