Final Cry on Gempukku
« on: January 20, 2016, 09:14:59 AM »
I played a game of LotR tcg on Gempukku. I had The Balrog with whip of many thongs, I played vs Elves so naturally he put the Balrog vs. Cirdan and exerted 3 times to overwhelm him. I had Final Cry in my hand, but for some reason I couldn't play it, even tho it would have killed his Cirdan. Does the whip not count if the Balrog is defeated or why couldn't I play it?

This happened again in another skirmish vs. Eomer, where he was able to beat the Balrog. I can't play Final Cry on Gempukku for some reason.

Cards with wording like that tend to confuse me. If the balrog dies, does it still count as the skirmish ending with the Balrog bearing the whip? Because he isn't bearing the whip if he's dead, and the wound/overwhelm resolution is done before the skirmish ends right?

Final Cry states "...that involved The Balrog bearing...", which is different to "that involves". Should work the same as The Tale of the Great Ring's built-in counter: "...unless a Shadow event is (or was) played during this skirmish."

Both cards are triggered/affected by things past, which may or may not be present. Must be a bug.
