That's the way its supposed to work. That's not the way it actually works. The way it works is this.

Supreme Court Justices retire.
Obama appoints Supreme Court Justices, getting a majority on the court.
The Supreme Court is now the sole entity to decide what is a constitutional right and what is unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court makes the laws.

Heh, that's pretty much what happens here, as well. Can you believe they actually forbid handcuffs for conducting criminals? Because some rich guy was handcuffed, and he said it was bad for his image. Now, policemen all around the country have to JUSTIFY in written the use of a handcuff, or else THEY are punished. :(

So yeah, Obama is going to have a heyday for the next 4 years. Decisions I foresee...

Gun bans, increased restrictions.
Gay marriage legalized in all 50 states.
All restrictions on abortion declared unconstitutional.
Affirmative Action based on sexual orientation, banning "hate speech" against homosexuals (meaning that churches can no longer preach Scripture that says homosexuality is a sin).

Personally, I agree with all of them, in part.
Abortion is a delicate issue here, because we have Public Healthcare and all, but there, I think it'd work just fine. The last part, I agree until it gets to the parenthesis, after all, faith is faith.
And gay marriage, come on, a man and a woman can marry each other and then get to hate their own guts and be miserable for the rest of their lives, why can't two people of the same sex that ACTUALLY DO love each other have the same treatment? Now, I'm not talking about wedding ceremonies, since it deals with faith, and the government can't simply "force" the Church to interpret the Bible differently, but civil union? Why not?

Yeah, I know, remembered it later. Unless I'm mistaken, you have Civil Union and Common Law Partnership, right? Or they're the same? If they're not, we use the same word HERE for Civil Union and marriage, although we call it Civil Marriage, and we also have Common Law Partnership, by a different name as well. Did I get it right?

Abortion is a delicate issue here, because we have Public Healthcare and all, but there, I think it'd work just fine.

Unless you believe that it is indeed a human life, and thus abortion would be killing another person, with which there are numerous moral, social and ethical problems.

The last part, I agree until it gets to the parenthesis, after all, faith is faith.

Um...ban "hate speech", you ban Scripture. Scripture says homosexuality is sin, and I believe it. If you make "hate speech" illegal, I guess Scripture becomes illegal too, or at least that part of Scripture.

Why not?

Because now we, the taxpayers, are forced to fund a bunch of economic benefits for people we, quite frankly, believe are living in sin. At least a good portion. Then, there's what we call in team policy debate a KRITIK, that is, the whole mindset of recognizing it upsets the balance of society.

Well, then, in this case taxes should be divided as those paid by Christians, those paid by Jews and etc, since otherwise, Christian tax money would be funding "sinner" jews. Religion can't interfere in State-related issues. It has its right to be respected, but not to the point where it can legally interfere with how the State handles its own finances. On a related note, then it should be ok for gay people to protest that people that are married but not in love anymore are living in sin, or those who ever had a divorce, so THEY shouldn't receive welfare, either, even if they needed. See my point?

I agree FM.  I don't agree with many different people's lifestyles, but that doesn't mean they should be cut off from benefits that "regular" people get.  The fact that our country does not run that way is one of the things that makes America so great.  I don't agree with homosexuality; I believe it is a sin.  So is lying, stealing, lust, adultery.

I am of the strong opinion that homosexuals should have civil union rights.  Fully the same rights and benefits that married couples have.  However it should NOT be called marriage, as marriage is a christian, biblical based principle that is clearly between a man and a woman.

My opinion.  :D

Which is also endorsed here, but unfortunately, since they use the same word for both (marriage and civil marriage), it's causing a lot of problems, since they can't make it stick, because "marriage", due to its origin, when is not between a man and a woman is considered non-existant.
