December Special Sealed Event
« on: November 17, 2021, 12:45:49 PM »
From December 5th to Christmas Eve we will hold a 20 day Sealed Event on GEMP.

To squeeze the event into this block of time, it will run a bit faster, having each Serie be 5 days rather than 10.  \:D/

Polling the community to see what everyone would like to see!

Thank you!

TS ftw! Best sealed format!

I do like the TS league, but in my opinion, Movie is even better in almost every way.  The trouble with the TS league is that the Rohan starter for series 1 is so much weaker than the other two. The issue is that the fellowship cannot keep up with either opponent, allowing them to horde companions in hand until site 7/8: the most effective way to beat archery in a metagame before threats.

While you can say the the Elves/Dunland starter in movie is also a bit weaker (the elves are fine, but Dunland isn't great), it can still keep up, especially with a few decent pulls, and gets a lot stronger when combined with the other series. My only issue with it is that there is really never any reason not to pick the rangers/archers in series 3, regardless of the path you take for the previous two series. Last time out I tried making a Gollum Shadow (I had a lot of good pulls for it, including the rare Shelob from set 8). It was still awful. But all 6 starters for the first two series are viable, and, even better, your choice from series one does not guarantee your pick in series 2.

Orophoin, I agree. I had forgotten how unbalanced it was. It's been a while, I would change my vote if I could. If they do fix the Rohan Starter though…
