Gold Thread: Post ideas and comments here
« on: November 14, 2008, 06:08:54 AM »
After looking at this thread in the CC forums I wanted to have a place to discuss uses for :gp:. I like the fact that avatars and signatures are free, I'd like to continue that but perhaps you could purchase extra space for your avatars; say 10 :gp: for an extra 100 characters, or for an extra 10 pixels in every direction. It would also be cool to have it where you could buy something and then sell it for the same price. CC had this impracticable feature where you lost money if you attempted to sell an add-on, I can see no reason why someone should just lose money into the ether just because they happen to be selling. And as this is a virtual domain there is no good reason to do that here.  ](*,)

Anyway, post ideas, critiscism and anything else :gp:-related here.  :)

And that's why your posts keep getting moderated. I'll give you 1 hour to edit your adjective of choice to call the feature created by Conor Brace, fellow forumer and creator of Cobra Cards, or I'm deleting the post altogether, and that's strike 1 for you.
And to address the specific issue, it's called "market value", perhaps you're familiar with it? Or you actually get to, say, sell a car after using it for 10 years for the same price you bought it? Didn't think so. So yeah, that's how it's supposed to work, if you sue an add on and want to make money from it later on, you WILL lose money on the trade, that IS the fair way to do it. ALso, we already have a thread like this, I believe it's at the Golden Hall (or should be, at least), where this kind of thread usually goes. If not, I'll create one there depending on the interest this one arouses.

You're here to restrain flaming and abuse, not
use your mod-powers to legislate your own brand of morality.

Ouch, burned by a typo. LOL Can't help it, mm, I'm a sue-happy guy! :D

You're here to restrain flaming and abuse, not
use your mod-powers to legislate your own brand of morality.

Come again? When you call a feature created by a fellow forumer (and endorsed by several others, lots of them still on this site) "retarded", this IS offensive and, to some extent, flaming. If I were to actually use moderator features to endorse my own morality, believe me, you wouldn't have a place in it. I'm merely endorsing the FORUM's rules, which we already made clear to you on several ocasions. And I will CONTINUE to do so, as long as I remain a moderator, and even if the Admins decide that I should step down from the position, I'll still bring stuff like this up to the CURRENT mod staff, and THEY will also do something about it. And I'll leave this up to the Admins, but as far as I'm concerned, this should be your strike 1 right here.
But if you feel persecuted or anything, go ahead, talk to Dain or Kralik, and let's see if they'll complain about it with me, or the other way around.

Worthy topic, GT, but a terrible way to go around it. Opening up a proposition by insulting the founder of CobraCards is NOT the way to go. And I can let you know that F_M is not the only moderator who is about out of patience with you.

And the irony of your statement was that he was indeed moderating flaming. Doesn't matter if the guy you were flaming isn't around anymore. But personally, I'm far more ticked off with your comments towards F_M than your attacks on Conor.

The thing is, I actually agreed with you, but you're doing more damage to your cause than good. I have half a mind to lock this thread, but I'll give you a second chance to straighten the thread up and make it productive.

A note to all. This is not America. This is online. The forum has its own set of rules which are not unreasonable. You may feel they infringe on free speech. Tough. We're not the US government, we can suspend your right to free speech on these boards permanently. Some users may find it worthwile to remember that posting on these boards is a privilege, not a right, and remember that already in the history of these boards the administration has had reason to implement bans on certain users for flaming.
