Well...obviously, there's one way to ensure that Fiend decks die. And that is to make sure you have infinite strength (or strength reduction).
Cue: Infinite Gandy!
RB:

Farmer Maggot, Hobbit of the MarishMerry, Rohirrim SquireErland, Dale CounselorPippin, Hobbit of Some Intelligence x 3
Rohirrim Guard x 4
The Shire Countryside x 4
A Light In His Mind x 3
Servant of the Secret Fire x 4
Inspiration x 4
Saved from the Fire x 4
NaryaSo the point of the deck here is to be able to survive a tun 2 Fiend onslaught. The point is to go for the
Saved from the Fire to nab Pippin,
The Shire Countryside and
A Light In His Mind. Ideally, you'll draw into one of those and can then grab an additional
The Shire Countryside. Ideally, you've also got
Servant of the Secret Fire in hand, but you can also use
Inspiration with one of the 7 extra companions in your deck.
Now you've got the combo. Play the event, use Erland, rinse, lather, repeat. You should be able to ensure that you get initiative right via Gandy manipulation or some other way. Anyways.
Rohirrim Guard helps if you draw into him.
So, ideally, turn 2 you've got this configuration.
Gandalf
Erland
Merry
Pippin
Servant of the Secret Fire/Inspiration and a comp in hand (which can also be nabbed if you draw into the right cards).
A Light In His MindThe Shire CountrysideWahoo. Infi Gandy turn 2, theoretically. Fiend dead.
I'm working on a shadow that's dedicated to trashing both the Horn and the Fruit Loops deck, as they're the only competitive decks in the format other than Horn/Fiend.
