Arwen is somewhat confused.....
« on: December 14, 2008, 08:29:24 AM »
...because she -and me included- doesn't really know what to do with her role in this deck. Just tried something, maybe to inspire others to help me from here and let this evolve into something magnificent....or maybe to throw it in the bin.....

The point is to make Arwen draw a lot of cards in the maneuver. And she can...but what to do next? In this deck Faramir can heal her, Aragorn can heal her and Might of Numenor can heal her. Multiple ways of drawing an insane amount of cards. Hypothetically she can draw 26 cards in maneuver...which is nice, but what to do with those cards? Well I tried something with moving a lot, a few strong elves who benifit from the amount of events in hand.
In a smaller setting it could be fun to play still needed and draw them in the next maneuver phase...

Well help me to get some focus please, because allthough this seems nice, each deck in expanded, even with 100 cards on either side will eat this deck :-)

Well, the first thing that jumps in mind is packing Manager of Wizards and using all this cards in hand to overwhelm minions, then run, leaving some fellowship events in hand and setting up your shadow by choosing in which order to return cards to the deck.

Btw, Gloin's gametext says: Each time Gloin wins a skirmish, you may draw 3 cards, then place 3 cards from your hand beneath your draw deck in any order. Skirmish: Remove a [Dwarven] token to make Gloin strength +2.

If you have no cards in your deck, is it still legit to put 3 underneath the deck? Or is that option bound to the first line "you may"?

This deck just SCREAMS for Gwemegil and Arwen's Bow. Turn those extra cards into strength for Arwen and/or wounds during archery.

Other good uses of your card glut would be Gift of the Evenstar and Ring of Adamant. Careful Study wouldn't be a terrible toss-in, either.
Best regards,
Dáin

yeah I know, but is there something to do something with the discarded cards?

Once they're actually in the discard pile? Hmmmm. Some random thoughts, in no particular order:

Cirdan, The Shipwright
Elrond, Witness To History
Elven Warrior
Kindreds Estranged
Banners Blowing

I dunno. Not great options, but....
Best regards,
Dáin
