It's where you use this machine to throw clay discs into the air, then you shoot them in the air, with a rifle, I think, but maybe it's a shotgun.

Generally a shotgun, since skeet shootin' is used as practice for bird huntin'. And you don't use a rifle for bird huntin'.

Skeet is a recreational activity involving clay birds (known as clay pigeons) and shotguns.

I went to some sort of retreat for 2 nights a year ago...used 12-gauge shotguns, I think I downed like 4 in a row.  Pretty aweseome.
