Sting/Mithril Coat
« on: February 05, 2009, 10:32:50 PM »
[1]Sting, Glowing Blue [Shire]
Possesion • Hand Weapon
Strength: +2
Bearer must be a ring-bound hobbit.
Skirmish: Exert bearer to make an orc or uruk-hai strength -2.
"There are orcs about."

The blue ring could make for a good supporting ring-bound hobbit.  It only works for orcs and uruk-hai keeps it balanced.

[2]Mithril Coat, Inspiring Greed [Shire]
Artifact • Armor
Skirmish: Discard this artifact and spot a companion assigned to a skirmish.  The shadow player must make a minion replace that companion.  That skirmish is resolved by the shadow player.  The minion that wins is fierce.  The minion that loses is discarded.
"It belongs to me!"

I don't know.  I was trying to simulate the two minions fighting over it.

Underpowered for a sting. Needs more ability.

You havent said who bearer must be. Haha the flavour is hilarious but the gameplay is a rules nightmare. Maybe you should make the shadow player spot 2 minions, whichever has the lowest strength is discarded.

I love the flavor for the Mithril Coat.  I was just thinking it could have at least a minor bonus for the bearer.  I agree with lemon on the discard ability and another option might be to wound the minion with the lowest strength rather than just discard it.  Not sure which would be the best just tossing out some ideas.  :)

I think sting is fine, compare with baggins heirloomMithril coat is fine. though vitality one seems to be a bit different. I'd go with the standard possesion damage bonus removing thing,

and the ability needs to be 2 minions of different strength.
