Frenzy of Arrows
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:48:07 PM »
I was going to use Frenzy of Arrows in a new deck then realized there's an errata on it. It now says: Spot an  [Orc] archer minion to add 2 to the minion archery total. If you do, you may add an additional 2 to the minion archery total for each follower you can spot.

Is it me or there's no [Orc] archer that I can think of and neither a card to add the archer keyword to an [Orc] ? If so, Frenzy of Arrows is just plain useless, but someone correct me if I'm wrong!

It is useless.

Look, the designer of RoS, T&D, and AE was NOT GOOD at designing LotR cards. He designed the Mount Doom set, for crying out loud. His expertise was in Star Trek, but D wasn't going to spend the money on another designer, so they (Warren and Cindy) depended mostly on playtesters to catch and fix things. Brad (the set designer) got tons of feedback from the few playtest teams they had left about how broken just about everything in those sets was, but he chose to ignore it (probably due to deadlines) and that's why Frenzy of Arrows was printed as it was. Once it was released and D could do something about it, it was decided that the quickest/easiest way to deal with it without playtesting alternatives was just to neuter it completely.

In my games I just change all the "2" values to "1."  Not official at all, but it seems to work ok for us.

I think most of us in the forum can better design and are even more skilled, after I looked over some threats in ''chamber of mazarbul'', than these guys....INCREDIBLE and they get money for that, why were they not able to get someone who played this game before, who can tell what can be played and not played??

Most of us have even much more interest in this game than these stupid designers.....
Just look at the ideas for the 9 weapons for the fellowship.

Who needs such crap like anduril, king's blade??
there are much more and better fitting abilities I would design.... :(

People, just look in Casual/Other Format in Lothlorien. Then you'll see how good Frenzy of Arrows is

you know, kings blade is still ok.  as he can bear it with something else, now if they had either added a vitality bonus or knocked the twilight down it would be amazing!

so he's the guy who gave us fiend?
