Sauron Launch
« on: April 10, 2009, 08:55:37 AM »
I got bored so I came up with this deck

2x *Sceptre of the Dark Lord (13R141)
2x *Throne of the Dark Lord (17R105)
4x *Sauron, Dark Lord of Mordor (13R140)
4x *Searching Uruk (15U168)
2x Corsair Plunderer (8R58)
4x Hounding Uruk (11S188)
4x Morgul Hound (7C192)
2x Uruk-hai scout (14R15)
4x Vigilant Uruk (11R205)
4x Watchman Uruk (11C206)

Rely on twilight (2) and (3) minions with at least 2 vitality to allow you to get Sauron out. The swarm with Sauron's deck chair means lots of dmg +1 minions.

it's a nice idea, TJ, but i don't think that it works or ether is constant enough.
direct damange, heavy archery, knights & even strong companions with high vitality (gil-galad+aiglos, elendil+narsil, aragorn+anduril) are useful ways to break your deck very easy. you can almost play sauron up to 4 times with damange +1/+2 which is devently too less.

try the following: gollum + captured by the ring + fat one wants it + ulaire lemenya, et + morgul brute + morgul destroyer + sauron, the lord of the rings.... your sauron will be very cheap and much stronger. add led astray for pool-making and sweeter meats against direct damange.

If you want to go with the multiple minions, consider Candle Corpses. Not unique, enduring and with The Throne you have a 10 strength damage +1 minion. Not bad. Maybe my Gollum beast keeper is an idea.

Let me see:

Captured by the Ring 4x
Led Astray 4x
Incited
Throne of the Dark Lord 2x
Lemenya ET 4x
Sweeter Meats 3x
Sauron, The Lord of the Rings 4x
Sceptre of the Dark Lord 2x
Ithil Stone 3x
Morgul Destroyer 4x (for Ithil Stone and threats for that matter)
Gollum, Threatening Guide.

Just from the top of my head, maybe/probably it can be done better, but just an idea.

Did you ever played this?

2x Sceptre of the Dark Lord
2x Throne of the Dark Lord
3x Sauron, Dark Lord of Mordor
4x •Barrow-wight Stalker
4x Candle Corpses
4x •Covetous Wisp
4x Dead Faces   Minion
4x •Spirit of Dread
4x •Undead of Angmar
4x Dark Swooping Shadows

And please don't forget to play Mount Doom. Very important in combo with Undead of Angmar..

You will not kill your opponent, but suddenly a minus 4 resistance is very damaging for corrupting the rb. You might want to change play a Gollum Dark as darkness as well.. It will become a very thick deck, but that's playable with a fast Pipeweed/Gandalf, Powerful Guide Fellowship. I really enjoy playing this. One of my favourite decks with the Rainbow Fellowship/wizardsdeck (the deck I played during the Amsterdam Tournament).
