TLHH Grand Summer Tournament

Hello people

As the inn keeper of the Green Dragon, I have been considering a grand tournament this coming summer. I want to gauge the general feeling for a tournament. As it will have some considerable prizes (I hope) the more we have the better the prize support. This means the tournament will be fairly strictly monitored, so if you dont think you will be able to stick to a schedule this may not be for you!

Please make your interest known here, and I will keep a list of those interested.

i'm guessing since its in green dragon we're talking of an online tourney. gccg? sda? lacky? what are we using?

I'm happy for us to come to a consensus on what platform to use. Prizes are to be decided again, by you lot. Understand though the better the prizes, the higher the entry fee.

As for format, Standard would probably be it, unless you all make a valid case for a different one.

Standard is good.
What sort of prizes do you have in mind?
Concerning: 'Summer tournament'... It is currently Autumn here, it will be winter in one month... What date would you be thinking of starting this?

I'd vote for Standard, but also banning New Chapter.  Everyone using an endless loop horn deck would be a bit dull.  Not sure if its possible, but I'm sure the numbers for tourny would be greatest if it was free, and have some forum medal, and some big gccg $ to buy online cards with.

I fear if tourny is done with real money and real prizes, there will be too much arguing over rules.  I've noticed there are plenty of GCCG players that don't know the rules too well.

if you're banning new champter you have to ban the gil-galad, hkotn + namarie + leaving forever combo too (actually you have to ban all hunter elfs to get a fair tournament...)

If you charge some fee to join that alone would propably get away a lot of people and i agree with smallman that will be hard to get in a consensus about the prizes.

For the format i think standard have a lot of almost broken strategies and elves will look like child play compared to the most nasty aspect of standard: site manipulation. The ability of play several time the same site or just to choose for which one your freeps will move makes the capital difference between winning or losing. You can make a solid dwarven tank deck just to see it be butchered by the sitepath and a few key minions, anyway that's just a movie block player toughts 

I would like to play even if it is standard, but not sure if i have to pay something.

I think we have one more game to go to the last round. I think is the Manuel's one... i will check and see what goes.

I don't have as much of an issue with the gilgalad loop, as it can take quite a while to get setup, and has many counters.  Need to ban leaving forever to stop the loop, I have a bigger problem with Namarie personally, its definitely overpowered and shuts down too many shadows.  I like to see variety.
