Yeah, this is a goodbye.
Let me first, before continuing, refer you to my post in the Chamber. I have, in fact, just posted a miniset. So I have kept my oath of never leaving until I have completed an entire DC set. I admit, I cheated a little, but I *do* have an entire set's worth made in graphical DCs. I just don't have the time to type them all out.
Anyway.
I remember a LONG time ago... just before Reflections, actually, I joined the OLD old D boards.
I ended up joining CobraCards, and shortly afterward, NB and I together single(double?)-handedly killed LotRTCG. At least, that's what we tell people. If you want the details, ask him.
I figure that I risk becoming corny if I start reminiscing too much, so I'll simply go into why I'm leaving.
My life has moved on. This isn't really a bad reflection on any of you, and much as I would like to stay on here, I just can't. I don't have the time, and I have moved on to other interests. I mentioned once before that I found a girlfriend: this is true. It happened at a rather... interesting point in my life when I was making a lot of decisions about my life (the sort of thing that happens when one suddenly ends up at college and realizes that the "rest of his life" has just begun....) Anyway, I've gone through some rather substantial personal changes in the past year. In many ways, of course, I'm still the same.... Fascination approaching obsession with Old Norse, Anglo-Saxon, et cetera mythology, literature, and the like. A strong belief that arguing with impartiality is the only way to effectively argue an opinion. Good spelling and Grammar (generally.) Et cetera. Overuse of the phrase "et cetera." In the process of going through this little "quarter-life crisis," I ended up becoming substantially less cynical, if that means anything to anyone....
And, much as I still like this place, I just don't have the time or personal energy to commit to being an active member here.
Plus, no offense, but I like my girlfriend better than any of you.
I've really enjoyed being a member of these forums, and I sort of regret that I won't be here anymore.
If anyone's wondering, NB should still be able to get ahold of me, dittos for GarrisonofGondor, though he might have a little more difficulty.
Maybe I'll be back someday, but I kinda doubt it. I'll probably check this thread a few more times in case there's anything in particular to respond to (questions, or whatever), but beyond that this and the DCs are my lasts posts.

EDIT:Oh, and if Dain ever gets Realms running again, I want Ectheow to go out in a blaze of glory! Preferably on some sort of self-sacrificing stand against a bajillion orcs/Easterlings/whatever.
