Damage-bonus Nazgul
« on: June 04, 2009, 02:47:00 AM »
Straightforward beatdown with lots of damage bonuses. Been wanting to do something like this since Fellowship block, but I think Ring of Terror and Dark Horseman finally gives it the push it needs.

30 cards.

2 Grima, Wormtongue
1 Morgul Detachment
3 The Witch-king, Morgul King
3 Ulaire Cantea, Faster Than Winds
3 Ulaire Enquea, Lieutenant of Morgul
2 Ulaire Nelya, Ringwraith in Twilight
4 Ulaire Nertea, Dark Horseman

3 Nazgul Sword
3 Ring of Terror
1 The Pale Blade

2 Not Easily Destroyed
1 Out of Sight and Shot

2 All Blades Perish

---

Going through a few card choices:

Cantea, Faster Than Winds - this is to interfere with threat wounding more than for possession removal, though the latter can't hurt. Fun if the threats trigger while Morgul King is in play.

Grima, Wormtongue - for decks that load companions with a gazillion cards until nothing can get through. Also serves as a lightning rod for Ranger's Longbow at a measly 4 strength.

Not Easily Destroyed - the one card that can save this deck against Knights. If they exhaust with Fourth Level, heal before Gondor Bow or CotS hits. Also used with Enquea for crowd control.

Dark Whispers - it was either this or Beyond All Darkness. I think cost 0 wins out (good for surprises as well), but only two since it's useless at less than 3 burdens.

Thanks for any suggestions!

it seems to me as though you need some pure burden adding for Dark Whispers and Ulaire Nelya, Ringwraith in Twilight, maybe a couple sword of flame or keening wail

well I like the gollum part with Let her deal with them :-) play with initiative... add burdens with Toldea/Attea combo (Initiative-Nazgul)... add ring of rancor for vitality... then you get your burdens... Enquea LOM will do his part then :-) and with initiative, some other nice gollum cards work :-) push, damage... burden, wounding... yeah... my taste :-)
Mithrandir I am known to the Elves, Tharkun to the dwarves; Olorin was the name in my youth in the West which is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; into the East I will not go."

I think I'll drop Dark Whispers since it's basically been a win-more card. That leaves Nelya, who I'm willing to let Dark Horseman handle by wounding the Ring-bearer (and maybe replay Courtyard Parapet with the FP as well).

Gave Keening Wail x4 a whirl, but it felt like the deck was starting to do too much. It could really use wounding protection though, so All Blades Perish is going in. I guess it's looking even more like Threatguls. :P

Reminds me of something NappyKorn had. He used Morcs to gain initiative via Streaming to the Field, added burdens with Attea (softening the field with Gates of the Dead City), and then proceeded to turn Enquea into walking artillery. The skirmish phase was just icing on the cake.
