Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the site and have been going through the forums trying to get a feel for what's going on. Although there's a lot I don't understand, and I've never played an online TCG, it's great to see there's still an interest in LotR TCG. I always thought the game did great justice to its source material and bought a lot of fun along the way.
I started out with the Star Trek CCG when it first came out. I have complete black bordered and white bordered collections of at least the first 5 sets lying in a box somewhere. It's hard to accept that they aren't worth the money and effort it took to collect them.
I was only ever a casual player of LotR TCG, but collected it as part of a wider interest in the works of Tolkien. I collected everything (except foils) up to and including
Mount Doom. After that, I never knew what happened to the game or Decipher.
I play a lot of boardgames and recently pulled out a couple of Fellowship starter decks to introduce my friends to the CCG concept. It was a big hit and now features regularly in our gaming sessions.
It was enough to rekindle a bit of the old spark and I've since managed to pick up some booster boxes of Shadows and Riders for around $10 each. I can't see me going as far as RoS and T&D, but I'll see how it goes.
I have a box of Foils from the first 9 sets gathering dust, so I guess I could put them up for trade to try and fill gaps in the new sets.
Best wishes to everyone involved with the site from here in the United Kingdom.
