The Hunt for Gollum
« on: July 11, 2009, 09:22:53 AM »
Anyone seen this 40-minute movie? Link is right here: www.thehuntforgollum.com

The title really implies what happens...the time frame is set between The Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy, when gollum comes out from the Misty Mountains, and Strider hunts him down and captures him.  Nicely done, for a fan movie, I must say!

I finally had some time and watched The Hunt for Gollum. I was impressed on what they did on such a low budget, but I thought the script was corny and every single character in the film was the biggest camera ham.

Also, about 20 minutes of it was a guy carrying around a bag, and the other 20 minutes was some fan boys like, "Let's make a cool looking fight."

Like I am said, it is impressive relative to its costs, but clearly none of those guys have ever been laid.

I was frustrated by the experience, only because three non-nerds were watching it with me at the time, and so had to make a stupid comment every three seconds.  I think it was only deserving of a stupid comment, say, every twenty seconds, but that was too much.

I think the concept was cool, though, and like ket, thought it was impressive relative to the budget.

I think it is also great that there are fans willing to do this stuff. But I prefer Born of Hope a thousand times over this one. None of them are bad, nor awesome, but I like BoH better.

OMG! Thank you guys for posting this. I had never heard about that before. I've just watched it and I loved it. It's pretty neat. I've just watched Born of Hope as well. It's nice as well... but there is too much romance in there, not my type of movie.
