My strange Elf Deck both sides
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:52:35 AM »
First off I would like to say its nice to see a board that still talks about this game.  I only hope this board is active.  I created this deck just for fun what it does is cycles cards and has a lot of fluff so I know its a really big deck.  I played it before I revamped it and it was a lot of fun to play except I kept running into that gorram card Saurons Gaze.  Which really hurt my Haldir and for some reason I kept forgetting it was out.

Ring Bearer
Frodo, Protected by Many
The One Ring, The Binding Ring

Starting Fellowship
Haldir, Warrior Messenger
Arwen, Royal Maiden
Galadriel, Lady Redeemed

Companions
Glorfindel, Eldarin Lord x2
Elrond, Witness to History x2
Gil-galad, Elven High King x2 (I know I should use the new one but I have NONE, but I wish I did.)
Elrohir, Son of Elrond (Just needed another companion that had decent strength and I didn't want to make this a Twin Sons deck as I already have one.)

Artifacts
Nenya, Ring of Adamant x3
Vilya, Ring of Air
Aiglos
The Mirror of Galadriel, Dangerous Guide

Possessions
Gwemegil x2
Hadafang
Elven Sword x2
Asfaloth, Swift Blossom x2
Arwen's Dagger
Elven Armaments x2
Lembas Bread x2
Sting

Followers
Woodhall Elf, Exile x3
Uruviel, Woodland Maid x3

Events
Cast It Into the Fire! x2
Voice of Nimrodel x3
Supporting Fire x3
Attunement x3
Kindreds Estranged x3
Inside a Song x4
Final Shot x2

Conditions
Uncertain Future x3
Shadow Between x2
Agility x2
Glimpse of Fate x3

Shadow
Minions
Goblin Man x4
Isengard Forger x4
Isengard Retainer x3
Isengard Servant x3
Orc Commander x2
Isengard Smith x4
Orc Overseer x2
Saruman, Servant of the Eye
Saruman, Master of Foul Folk
Unferth, Grima's Bodyguard x4
Isengard Artisan x3
Isengard Builder x4
Isengard Mechanics x2
Isengard Plodder x4
Isengard Tender x4

Artifacts
Library of Orthanc x2
The Palantir of Orthanc

Possessions
Scaffolding x3
Isengard Axe x4

Events
The Trees Are Strong x3
Fires and Foul Fumes x2

Conditions
Gnawing, Biting, Hacking, Burning x3
Hollowing of Isengard x2

Adventure Path
Crags of Emyn Muil
Fangorn Glade
Expanding Marshland
Osgiliath Reclaimed
Mithlond
Old Forest Road
Mount Doom
Imladris
Sirannon Ruins

The theme of this deck is to have a surplus of cards to discard for the fellowship.  As for the shadow is to discard to wound the fellowship.  So I guess you could say the theme is to discard.

I'm glad you enjoyed playing this deck.  As you said it is REALLY big.  Slimming it down will make it more efficent.

65/65? am I counting it right? man, that's really, REALLY huge :-) it looks decent, but i cant imagine, that i could work properly against any well build deck. try to take it down on 40/40 at least and u will see, that it will make this deck much more efficient.

If possible, 35/35.  It sounds tough, and I myself had a hard time with this too, but try knocking out a few events and less than crucial companions.  It may be a good idea to drop 1 copy of each of your followers.  3 of each is a lot.  Slim down the events, especially if you're playing so many different events.  As for shadow, I can't offer any advice since I struggle with a devius mind set, wink wink.

Nice shadow but I would consider putting in a greed for crowd control and then kill the rest with your orcs
Beregond,  for the people who don't know, is from the book.
He resides in Minas Tirith, and chills with Pippin.
