Gaining HunterX
« on: July 28, 2009, 04:53:22 AM »
Following situation:

Frodo is assigned.
Aragorn, DoR is assigned.
Eomer, Horsemaster is assigned.

I start with Eomers' Skirmish. Friends of mine say he does not gain hunter +1 (Aragorn), because hunter can not be added to an already existing hunter value  :o! I am convinced, that Eomer has hunter 3, aslong as Frodo is assinged to a skirmish. Can anyone help me?

The Hunter keyword works similar to the Ambush keyword in terms of multiple instances on the same character. If a character who has Hunter 3 is given the additional gametext Hunter 1, that character has both Hunter 3 and Hunter 1. Since it's not an option to add that strength if skirmishing a non-Hunter character, it would work the same as Hunter 4, but it is still two separate instances (Hunter 3 and Hunter 1).

Eomer would have hunter 2 and hunter 1.

Eomer himself has "While skirmishing a non-hunter character, this character is strength +2." (hunter 2).

Aragorn makes him gain "While skirmishing a non-hunter character, this character is strength +1." (hunter 1).

So Eomer essentially gets strength +3, even though he's not actually hunter 3.
