Stewards' Legacy

If I exert Boromir with DiaH or NtitL, does Stewards' Legacy's exertion kick in before or after the wound delivered by the maneuver event? I always thought the Steward kicked in first, but now I'm questioning myself haha

Stewards' Legacy kicks in first, since it's responding to the cost of DIaH / NTITL (responses to costs happen before effects). Exert a minion with SL, then wound a minion with the event.

I see I just thought cause SL says "may" that it would happen second, but I guess that works.
