Well...not sure if you all have heard of this or not, but there's this cool site called imeem (www.imeem.com) and it rocks. Or metal, rap, classical, acoustic, whatever you like, it has it.

I'm on there, www.imeem.com/nbarden

My latest playslists:

Christian Rapcore/Nu-Metal
Christian Symphonic Rock/Metal
Pure, Raw ROCK!

Anyways, I'm trying to expand these playlists as rapidly I can while still staying within CCM. A lot of people criticize CCM for being tier 2 music, and I'm out to prove that it is just as good as any mainstream music.

Any help would be nice. Please don't recommend Evanescence for the Prog Rock/Genre, I despise them since their comments on Christianity a while back.

BUT ANYWAYS, imeem is cool even if you think I'm whacked. Thanks!

Funny that you like Progressive Rock and yet you hated Yes ;) Unless you mean something different by Prog Rock? I suppose music changes so much over time that in 40 years the same term could mean something entirely different...

Where'd you get that idea?  Having a symphonic sound has nothing to do with Prog Rock.  Prog Rock can be symphonic, but it certainly isn't a defining characteristic.

Yes is one of the bands that epitomizes Prog Rock and the era it came from.  Nowadays the way music has "progressed" there aren't many groups that absolutely fit into Prog Rock as a genre.  Radiohead and Tool are popular bands good examples that come close to fitting, while The Mars Volta and Dream Theater are even better fits.  But for the most part it is a genre that is pretty hazy.   :ninja:   You could call most bands out there "Prog Rock" in some way.  Though the links you provided Nbarden really don't fit the bill IMO.  No offense meant, they just seem like straightforward rock songs.

Ya, Dream Theater is definitely prog rock. The playlist is actually all symphonic rock/metal, I posted prog rock b/c that's pretty much the most popular form of prog right now, so that its ALMOST synonymous, Within Temptation, Evanescence (actually, probably more metal there), etc. But yeah, there is some prog rock I don't like.

BTW, the links I posted are symphonic rock, definitely. Meaning rock with a heavy classical influence. Frozen = Gothic Metal (subgenre of Symphonic Metal), Collide = Symphonic Rock, Rebirthing = Symphonic Rock.

So, I retract my statement and rephrase it to say "Symphonic," okay?

BTW: Kralik, I didn't like that one song, haven't heard much of their other stuff.

Try Roundabout. If you don't like it, that's fine... Yes just isn't your cup o' tea. It's more representative of their style than the other song.
