This may be a dumb question...

What is the point behind Denethor's sword?  What strategy would you have to be using to utilize that sword for a good purpose?  This is probably an easy question but I don't understand why you would want his game text not to apply.  Isn't it nice to have your game text apply?

No I think, ket, you're misreading the card slightly - it gets rid of all of Denethor's game text, and so it has no point whatsoever. What's the point of using On the Edge of Madness if you can't get the strength boosts? The only one I can see it being worthwhile is on Steward of the City after you've played all your knights because at that point his game text is only disadvantage.

Why you'd want to play Steward of the City and risk waiting to get the sword is beyond me anyway...

I just always use Lord of Minas Tirith - definitely the best Denethor out there  :)

nope, "his game text does not apply" basically means "his game text does not exist"

I think Decipher just screwed up yet again. IMO the text should have said "The first sentence of Denethor's game text does not apply." That would have made Denethor, On the Edge of Madness pretty amazing though, so idk, really. T&D was way too screwed up for the most part.

Lord of Minas Tirith is amazing, as is Last Ruling Steward. By far the best Denethor's made.
