Stern Words

Does Stern words let you return it to hand after you reconcile or before?

eg. Nazgul rings let you return bearer to hand after you reconcile, so you can have 9+ cards for your next turn..

Is stern words the same or do you return it to hand before reconciling?

That is awesome then!

So every turn you could play 4x stern words and not get choked from them at all.

End your turn with 12 cards for the next shadow phase... This sounds pretty good to me.

I always thought that there would have to be a negative effect for this card.. Maybe not.

Well, let's say you play 4 cards in your next Shadow phase, and have 8 cards in hand. You could still choke...

Not true, as that would make cards like Ithil Stone and Bent on Discovery pointless. When you reconcile, you always end up with 8 cards in hand
