Mossbridge Troll
« on: June 16, 2008, 03:37:40 AM »
I am looking for a deck that combines this beast with Epic Proportions. I dont know the cards well enough at the moment to put decks together.

Mossbridge troll? Eh, not worth it. The second it hits play, it gets removed before it can even swing.

Big crits are usually not worth running. Double Inversion, Oblivion Ring...heck even Unsummon!

Well, you probably want to play him, and get him down fast, and then you have to protect him. As NBarden said, it's not a very good strategy, but it might be worth a shot for fun at least, so I'd advise playing monogreen with acceleration. Pack 4 of each Birds of Paradise, Llanowar Elves, Search for Tomorrow, Wall of Roots, Fertile Ground, Garruk Wildspeaker, etc. Then, you need to FIND the Trolls, so aside from playing 4 of them, I'd pack Harmonize and Primal Command. For defending purposes, I'd pack Avoid Fate. Last, for packing a punch with OTHER stuff besides the Troll, I'd play Tarmogoyf, Chameleon Colossus, Troll Ascetic and Loxodon Warhammer.

Just run Elvish Promenade and Heritage Druid. Typical elf weenie with a troll tossed in as an AWC (Alternate Win Condition, need to abbreviate since its used so often).

And die to a Firespout... ;) I'd rather run the medium range deck with acceleration. I forgot to mention, but Civic Wayfinder is good as well.

Garh. I hate Firespout.
But they need something to replace Wrath.

Im considering a semi-control 4 colour deck with Mossbridge Troll + Elemental Mastery to finish it off. 25 Elemental tokens...

Nova Chaser + Mossbridge Troll + Elemental Mastery

I'm not fond of control decks which need a combo to finish off. Takes up too much deck space, and you end up being left vulnerable, you're not fast enough to outrace aggro while properly defending yourself, nor resilient enough to win wars vs. other control decks. But I guess it's your call, try it out and see what you can get out of it.
