Gold
« on: June 19, 2008, 10:03:42 AM »
Hello everybody,

As you may know, I am quite new in this forum and I think, first, I should apologize for my "strange" english...  :o

I've got a question: what is Gold good for in this board?
How can I get this and to whom I may/should/can give this?

Thanks for your answers!

Best regards,
Olorin
Mithrandir I am known to the Elves, Tharkun to the dwarves; Olorin was the name in my youth in the West which is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; into the East I will not go."

Right now, gold isn't really used for anything. In the (hopefully near) future, though, we will have a forum "shop" where you'll be able to purchase items and add-ons with your gold, like custom titles, extra forum features, etc.

Gold is typically given for making particularly useful posts (such as giving someone else a good review of their deck design or dream cards) or just being a useful forum contributor. :) You can give gold for the same basic reasons. For example, for bringing up a good question, I just gave you one!
Best regards,
Dáin

As much as you want, though you can only give someone gold every 15 minutes. I'd also recommend not giving it ALL the time....

Now, now, that's not advisable, asking for gold is strictly forbidden. Gold is earned, not begged for.

Can you take away gold if someone is being an #$&*@!?

But if you did that you'd lose gold too, for being an #$&*@! for taking gold away.
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world.  Those who know binary and those who don't.
You don't have a backpack. What you have there is an invisible leather TARDIS.

We administrators can and would if someone really deserved it (like tOO back before I ever showed up at CC apparently deserved for cheating his way into more than he should have had in the first place).

And there IS a switch we could flip that would allow any member to add OR take away gold from others, but we determined that would probably backfire sooner rather than later.
