Epic Game
« on: December 22, 2009, 01:27:26 PM »
Yes, tonight, 1 of the most epic games ever seen on GCCG was played. And proudly I can say that I was part of it!

Sweet was around and I invited him for a casual game. At first we played FotR, and he missed the concept of casual, cause he played Uruks  haha.
Next game, well next game beats all games, and I guess when Wikipedia gets their nose into it, they will show a screenshot of this game when trying to devine the word game. It had it all, winningpotential, loads of fun and odd cards being used!

My Uri monsterdeck vs his Lady Undomiel deck =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I saw her, and fell of my chair in utter awe and laughter, and I can't recall which was the most experienced emotion, awe or cheer fun, haha. He thought just to play vs a Uri deck, but then saw the size of it. Yeah I run 60/60.
My opening hand was great, and I by site 3 I had 5 dwarves, and Uri was damage +5 already after the use of Hall of Kings, Ring of Fury. Preparations was out, with a Slaked Thirsts on it, so I could afford going big cause Enquea wouldn't be a threat any longer. And so I did.

On the other side, Sweet started Lady Undomiel and Gandalf, Leader of Men. For a moment I was afraid that he would just burn her for Saved from the Fire, but no!! He actually built a deck around her. With Down from the Hills, he made a beast out of her and and even had an answer to my swarm with Wizardry Indeed. It was awesome. At site 8 I killed Gandalf, but he survived with Tale of the Great Ring.
I moved to 8 with 7 companions. He played Shotgun Enquea, and a swarm. 8 minions in total, and with the 1 vitality left he nuked my Sindri, leaving 8 minions for 6 comps. And with no Frodo protection, it was end of game. But a heck of a game it was!!

Thanks Sweet, for making my day

Sounds great!

The games where both people are evenly matched and just throwing out perfect counters to the other's strategy are the best.

We know that

no kidding

your story reminds me of a game between luki and myself, I was playing gandalf men/enduring nazgul corruption, i think he was playing a Grimbeorn power deck/troll swarm, he was also using frodo, resolute hobbit, anyway he eventually won by running to 9 even though i put 11 burdens on him 3 separate times (stupid watch and wait) while he killed 2 of my companions early before we started beating the living daylights out of each other.

Tonight we had:

Gwaihir's Wizards and Huorns with Sauron Wraiths
vs
TheJord's Echo of Luthien Mallorn Tree & hand discard with some weird Ringwraith initiative deck using Orc Inquisitor and Tower of Barad-Dur.

Epic finish: Galadriel is overwhelmed by Gollum and a DEAD ONES after a wraith swarm at site 9.
