Army of Balrogs

I was reading the silmarillion today and came across the part talking about an army of balrogs, one thing led to another and I eventually came up with this...

[2] Morgoth's Army (B)
Condition - Support Area
Each non-[Wraith] minion is non-unique.

so anyone like it?

Its insane for a couple of reasons. It has no cultural enforcement or spotting requirements, Im sure you intended it that way but still...

And also it would lead to a quagmire of rules issues, not to mention the potential abuse of some minions that are unique because two of them out at the same time would break the game!

It certainly would be interesting to try a game with it, and im sure would be vastly amusing but its not realistically viable.

Also, this spoils a powerful balrog. Every try to face Balrog, DoM with The Balrog's Sword, The Whip of Many thongs, 4 dark places, Durin's tower, and you know he has 2 final cries in his hand? Not fun! Give me an army of 4 Terror of Khazad Dum any day.

maybe if it was more like sent back, such as...

[2] The Balrogs of Morgoth [Moria]
Condition - Support Area
Shadow: Discard this condition to play the balrog from hand, even if another one is in play.

I like the idea, but what about creating non-unique Balrogs or Gothmog, Lord of the Balrogs?

Yeah, porter troll style balrogs, with spotting requirements, to play, spot The Balrog or Gothmog, Lord of the Balrogs. And than 15, fierce, damage+1. Gothmog, Bane of Gondolin would also be a nice title.

Yeah this idea definitely has merit. Perhaps it could have a second minor ability, like "Each Balrog is strength +X" to justify multiple copies, and/or maybe include a cost reduction.

Also, making non-unique Balrogs sound fun!
