From the Morgul Dale: Some Card Ratings on Worldwake

Well, my 3rd article will be about a very actual topic. I will show you some strategies of the new set. First, I was very surprised to see some old things like equipements and some very strange pictures like "Calcitide Snapper", but then, there were cards I always wished to see for some reasons, for example Bazaar Trader, which is a really cool combo card. So let's start with some lands:

Bojuka Pit:

When I first saw this card, I just thought; amazing. amazing. And then, hundreds of ideas came up in my mind. With a land that has the possibility to just destroy many Decks, and beeing searchable in Extended, you have pretty cool drawack. And as a bonus, it's just a Common, so easy to get this card, guys!

"Something" Tar Pit

Lands that are able to transform themselves were always strong, just remember the Old Standard times with Mutavault, a Staple in many Decks. Maybe that this new land with this very strange name isn't as powerful as Mutavault, but first, it's a dual land and second, the transformed creature is unblockable, so this card can be a very nice finisher. I think this Land is a card that could dominate the T2 format, later.

Amulet of Vigor

This is another card I wished to see before. Been able to combine this card with "Something" Tar Pit and others like trial-lands from Alara or Dream's orb from Kamigawa, which actually is a combo that can be inserted in nearly each fun Deck. And also in Standard, this card could be something that should be tried out.

Death's Shadow

Another dream card. I think this one will make extended to something new, cus' of one of my favourite cards: Unspeakable Symbol. Pay 9 life points, drop Shadow, give him trample, attack, attack, attack.. and win! The possibilites to make Combos with this one are endless, beginning with Platinum Angel and ending with Necropotence.

EDIT: For some unexpected reasons, the card turned into a Rare, now...maybe MtG card makers still got a little piece of brain left...

Abyssal Persecutor

When talking about Platinum Angel, the opposite of it was released: Abyssal Persecutor. But this' card's ability actually isn't important at all, cus' you can always get rid of your own creatures, though. A good example for that is the also new released card Anowon, the Ruin Sage, so build a Vampire Deck and add 4 times Abyssal Persecutor!

Leatherback Baloth

Well, Wizards is releasing even stronger and stronger creatures without any effect, so this one. I have no problem with playing a pure green Deck, but this one fits in most green Decks, anyway. Little overpowered from my point of view, but maybe... next one!

Admonition Angel

Well, what do we have here? A white Mythic Rare? Creature Type is Angel? Actually, that must be something special, doesn't it? 6 Mana 6/6 seems pretty OK, but what does it really make worth f a Mythic Rare? Ah, yes, it'as this super-dooperamazing effect, called Landfall, making this card to an ultimate Oblivion Ring, but is it really soooo powerful? Will you play so many lands after turn 6? I don't think so, and compaired with some other Rares this card should be "only" Rare, not Mythic Rare.

Loam Lion

You remember Kird Ape? Pretty cool card, and here's the remake: Loam Lion. With Alara, Zoo Decks got stronger reature and I don't think thisone will reach the power of those. But still nice in T2.

Marshal's Anthem

Well, this one is nice! After Gaea's Anthem, here comes another modified remake of the famous card Glorious Anthem, but now, there's really a modification! With the new multikicker ability that I like very much, you can revive creatures for just 2 mana each! And they get also +1/+1, by the way. I think 2 or 3 in a multi-colored an 4 copies in Mono-White Decks are playable, aren't they?

Goliath Sphinx

Wowowow, holy crap, it seems trendy to create oversized creatures in Worldwake! As for Leatherback Baloth, this one is a little stronger than usually, but still... uhhh, isn't so strong at all...why did you create this stupid card, WIZARDS?!?

Jace, the Mind Sculptor

Another remake of an already existing PLaneswalker, how nice. But... something seems strange about this card...the picture is to small...4 different Planeswalker-abilities?!? +2, +0 (!), -1 and -12 seems pretty strange costs, especially the zero-cost-abilitiy which seems like a Brainstorm for me (btw, limited in Vintage, btw) the +2 ability seems aso very nice to me, especially that you get 2 counters ... hehehe ... uhm.. back to topic, the -1 ability doesn't seem so strong at all, compared with others like Garruk and so on, but the -12 ability looks like victory to me! (especially when no cards in your opponents hand!)

Well, these were just some cards to give you a little idea. So, until next time, then!

:)

Oh yeah, when someone thought to be funny by creating this card...
There has already been something similar to this in Scourge, but less overpowered.

Pretty cool in a Deck like mine that I'm selling:

Green Forest Searching Deck:

Mythic Rares

1x Thornling

Rares (12):

3x Thorn Elemental
4x Rhox
2x Crush of Wurms
2x Tornado Elemental
1x Timbermare

Uncommons (4):

2x Imperiosaur
2x Recollect

Commons (20):

4x Tangle Golem
4x Fertilid
4x Wood Elves
4x Search for Tomorrow
4x Traproot Kami

Lands (23):

23x Forest

In this Deck, just drop Avenger of Zendikar and get tons of Tokens, and then give them Boosts every turn!
But actually not so amazing Standard..
