Silinde, Uruviel, Hobbit Farmer
« on: March 10, 2010, 07:43:35 AM »
Slightly strange question.

With cards like Silinde, Uruviel, Maid of Lorien and Hobbit Farmer, what happens if you copy a site like Lothlorien Woods? Obviously you get its game text (so all your allies with home 6 are strength +3) but does Uruviel also gain "Forest"? What about "Sanctuary"? And if she does, what does that even mean? Obviously you're not intended to be able to heal every site, but is that just a giant loophole? (I seriously doubt it, but I thought I would see some other opinions).

It says "Uruviel has the game text" but you only heal when "at" a sanctuary (not when you can spot a sanctuary). Therefore, unless the fellowship is "at" Uruviel, they can't heal.

EDIT: Also, cards that spot forests spot "forest sites," so they wouldn't be affected by Uruviel being a forest, either. The only exceptions are Galadriel, SotHL, which says "forest on the adventure path" (but Uruviel isn't on the adventure path) and some Fellowship Block cards (Natural Cover, Voice of Nimrodel, & Legolas, SoT) that require being "at" a forest (but the fellowship isn't "at" Uruviel). So while Uruviel being a forest is weird, it doesn't affect gameplay.

Yeah, certainly what I thought. But, for the sake of argument, does Uruviel have the text "Forest. Sanctuary."?

I guess so. So a card saying 'spot a forest' could spot Uruviel I guess. That would be pretty funny.

Except there actually aren't any cards that just spot forests; they spot forest "sites," which Uruviel isn't.

Cool. I didn't expect it to affect gameplay, I was mainly checking that my reading of the card was correct.

You may be getting a lot of weird questions from me in the near future. ;)
