weird misprint or normal stuff?
« on: March 11, 2010, 10:38:19 AM »
So, today I recieved a bunch of cards I bought from rubbercarp, and one of them was a foil Aragorn, Captain of Gondor. BUT this one looked a little strange, since the picture AND picture frame of the card is stretched up, just a little , like when a TV image is adjusted to fit the screen, this whole picture was a little stretched up.

Is this common in foil cards?

I'd post a pic, if you like.

Clearly it's a crappy webcam!

LOL yes it is indeed crappy. Here's a more clear version:

ALSO, if you notice, the image space to the left of the sword is clearly more, the image is wider!

Oh, I see now. The foil itself is "off" the sword. Yes, if it makes you feel better, both copies of Aragorn, Captain of Gondor (foil) I own/have owned are like that.

You're right, there is a little extra image on the left (making the foil off-centered).

Now, my question is, is this normal? Has it happened before?

Like I said, I have a Captain of Gondor (foil) that looks like that and traded a second copy that looks like that.

As to the question regarding whether or not foils have been misaligned before, yes. Most of them ended up in Reflections packs where Decipher threw in all of the extra cards that didn't pass quality checks (hence, mis-cut cards, misaligned foils, etc.)

Ok, maybe with the foil off centered. But the real thing is that the picture is bigger and "compressed".
