Most Over Powered Cards of All Time
« on: April 30, 2010, 11:45:03 AM »
Hey All,

I am interested in knowing what each of you think is the most over powered card ever printed.  Feel free to share any number of cards if you want.

IMO, Namarie certainly fits the bill for me.  Galadriel, Lady Redeemed even has more of a cost than that does and it's a flippin' Uncommon!
Do not take dragons lightly.  They are heavier than you think.

Mordor Fiend if all things being open.

If you want to go by "cards as they were originally printed" then We Must go Warily or the Faithful Stone.

Otherwise, no contest: Lady Redeemed.

well i play only movie, so il speak for the movie block.

how about elves?

they have archery, condition removal, healing, site liberation, they are strong in skirmish ->CIRDAN<- , Glorfindel, Gil-Galad, Queen of Elves and Man.

and all that without Lady Redeemed, and in one type of deck!

corsairs?

Castamir with 7 14 4, enduring, fierce, and token adding.

just compare him with Lurzt, or Witchking...

and all that support area conditions, and every minion adding tokens on it with cost being to discard a free peoples possession or something like that...

well thats an old debate  ;D

There is a difference between an overpowered card and a card that becomes overpowered due to a loop.

Galadriel, LR is the most OP card.

If Galadriel couldn't start in the starting fellowship and if she had to exert and remove an Elven skirmish event from hand, I think she'd be a lot more balanced.

Personally I hate Grond (the Orkish version) and Faithful Stone. Namarie is certainly OP too.
A wizard is never late...nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Namarie, Galadriel, LR, Ithilien Blade, Castamir of Umbar, Mountain troll, Grimbeorn, Prized Lagan, The Faithful Stone, Orophin, Silvan Elf, Rumil, Silvan Elf.

I will probably think of more, this is a good start though.

I won't argue with any of those but what combos and set ups have been used to break Mt Troll?

Rumil and Orophin (always read him as Orphan) are funny when you consider that even Decipher complained about how powerful Greenleaf was.

Grimbeorn I don't think was THAT bad until his axe released.

Mountain Troll was broken by Lurker exerts using Rallying Orc, Demoralized and Mountain Troll

Rallying Orc, Lurker, Lurker, Lurker, Lurker... discard them for a free fierce Mountain Troll and then use his ability to play them all back. Demoralised keeps the twilight up and the FP gets totally exhausted, facing a swarm.

Ithilien blade is not overpowered, Madril made it overpowered because he made it so easy to make them roaming in maneuver, other then madril, the only maneuver roaming cards are fortifications and gondorian merchant

I just read the linked "10 most broken cards" with interest, because I just got Ulaire this week in a Shadows starter box.  Please explain the problem with Ulaire Nelya – 3rd of the 9 riders & Courtyard Parapet.  How could  the minion cause the site to be used again & again, if the minion's game text reads: "... from your adventure deck" (not path).  Could you have multiple copies of the same site in your deck?  And what of the site's game text "When the fellowship moves to..." (not when the fellowship suddenly finds themselves here)?  Seems benign, so I must be missing something.

Thanks!
