Can you make existing culture templates (like [Elven], [Gandalf] etc.)? Not sure you can actually post those here, but if you can could you email me?

Thranduil

That would be cool. Maybe we could create a Lotr TCG card maker or somewhat like that to make DC sets more "alive".

This text has been translated by google translate, sorry for the spelling mistakes...

Make a layout is difficult, only that of "The Animals" I have 30 layers of photoshop. But the truth is that motivates me to do a project as a new expansion for LOTR TCG. If there is a serious project for expansion I volunteer to do if you want.

Answering the question of Thranduil, I have no layouts for existing cultures, sorry. But it would be easy. I personally like more to create a new culture.

Someone encouraged to begin?

I haven't seen a lot of people making DC sets with new cultures. The only one I can think of is Smeagollum's attempt at The Silmarillon. Perhaps you could contact him and see if you can contribute to his project.

That would be veery cool! Actually, the only time I have really care about DC's has been when they're visual, and since we cannot do that, I rarely have visited the DC forum. But if we actually CAN do visual DC's, I will be a big supporter. Do we have a graphic designer or something like that in the forums to do this?

Once you have the template and the right fonts, I guess that it's pretty easy to make a basic card maker on Microsoft Word using 'text zones'.

I'm a graphic designer, and it's more easy to make layouts with photoshop layers, word it's !$%W&%...

If all prefer to continue with traditional cultures, perfect we can make a new expansion with the same ... but in photoshop lol.

I make the cards, I'm just missing the texts and images ... who want to help?

There are probably thousands of dream cards in the forums on this website along with many completed dream card sets. Templates would greatly aid in making these cards more interesting to playtest.

I have tried to modify cards with paint and word and its not great. I don't have photoshop but tried with Gimp ... got some basic card templates doing it this way but i am sure photoshop would do a much better job (particularly if you are skilled at using it).

If those of us that are interested in putting some complete DCs for playtesting and some additional fun i am interested in helping out. There are some members of this site that are pretty talented at coming up with text for dream cards, and some of the cards i have read sound like they would be a lot of fun to play with.

There are members of this site that have the fonts as well. I think I may be able to help out here ... from memory someone made them from scratch and sent them through to me.

No problem for the fonts, I have the LOTRTCG fonts (I think that are Minion and Matrix), I used that fonts in my templates. It's time to decide what expansion do only. We have the card templates, the original fonts, the pictos and logos from the original cards... we only need the texts of the new cards and the images. The DC texts are here... the BIG PROBLEM: The images.

What can we do? There are Licences problems? New images? Old images from old cards?

I think that the big licencing issue would be distributing DCs with images inserted.

Why not create the cards without an image and then those who wish to use them can insert them for themselves.

From what I understood, there is also a problem with starting from the Decipher template. I was under the impression that starting from scratch, however, was technically allowed.

I'm not trying to blow my own horn, but some people have already started playing with these cards (you can download the attachment for the simple text versions I made). Might be an interesting place to start.

Thranduil,

If I do a NEW reestyling of the actual template, any of the elements will be the same (circles, the sword and shield...) all made from scratch, all new. But all in the same place. That will be allowed... But the culture pictos are under copyright no? I need to do new pictos for the cultures too? Bad solution...

I don't want text cards, I want to play with pro-like cards. Any idea?

You don't need to necessarily use pictures at all. The simple images we use here aren't copywrighted, like [Dwarven]. Or you could just use letter combinations like [DW].

I don't want text cards, I want to play with pro-like cards. Any idea?
I was giving the text cards only as an example of a place to start with making real templates of dream cards.
