The Moonlighters Thread.
« on: August 10, 2008, 04:16:53 AM »
You may only post in this thread between the hours of 2am and 7am, local time.

This thread is for those of us without bedtimes, who just can't find sleep or just happen to be up at a horrible, sunless hour. In this thread is to be discussed any random thoughts brought on my sleeplessness. I think I may be the only one with bouts of insomnia, but who knows. The awesomeness of this thread may keep some of you up at night!

If you light-lovers dare invade this thread, I will use my moderation powers to turn your avatar into a snuggly kitten with rainbows for eyes.

Don't you dare tempt me!

You may only post in this thread between the hours of 2am and 7am, local time.

Darn it. I think I'm slipping back into an insomnia phase. I haven't had more than 3 hours of sleep at a time in several days... and I tried sleeping for over 2 hours tonight with no success.

*Sigh*

I'm too old to stay up that late anymore. Throws off my pill taking regiment and my adult diaper schedule. :P

How's your memory thing doing? Better? Worse? About the same? Could that be affecting your sleep?

Memory is noticeably better; we finally nailed down the cause (autoimmune thyroid disease). I think my week of sleeplessness stems from just how perpetually-sensitive my sleep has always been. Once I get comfortable falling asleep a certain way, changing anything is disastrous. My brother/roommate had a friend stay with us all week and I just moved out last night, so presently nothing is the same.

You said it, CG. Blarg.

That's the penalty for posting in this thread at the wrong time.

Kralik must have done that. I was just kidding about it. :lol:

Glad to hear about your memory, Menace. Wonderful news!

Darn. It's stupidly late (3:30am local time) and I need to get up for work at 7. I hate not being able to sleep. This always seems to happen to me on Sunday nights.

Ho hum. Good night all (or should that be good morning).

Who needs sleep?  Well, me for one.  But our little one is awake and coughing so I brought him downstairs so as to not awaken the missus.

It's 5:15, we got up at 5 (had to read the latest on the Assassin game first :) )

I guess getting up early doesn't bother me as much as it used to.  When the twins were little I used to get up at 5 to feed them.  Mind you, I do like to sleep in to at least 7.  8am is a complete luxury.

And strange thing, when I came downstairs, I thought a cop car was outside our house because I could see flashing lights.. Turns out it was one of the little ones toys that has started playing all by itself - reminded me of Toy Story, I must have been this close to catching the toys "alive."

*whimpers*

My streak of sleeping every night is finally ended. Tonight it's the perfect storm of sleepless-inducing incidents:

-> My legs really, really hurt (it happens sometimes)
-> I accidentally took a nap tonight
-> My throat hurts
-> The internet in my apartment is back after weeks of absence

On the plus side, I've got a perfect-condition NES and N64 I can play for the remainder of the night.  :mrgreen: w00t for MegaMan 4!

My computer tells me it's 2:37 in the A.M.

I'm hardly tired at all!

My psych teacher says that the time that the body usually feels the most tired is 3:00 A.M. If you're trying to stay up all night, once you get past that, apparently it'll be a lot easier.

I'm not gonna try, though.

I just played Rock Band for the first time today. I like Guitar Hero better. But whatever.

No, there isn't a point to this post. I'm just saying whatever comes to mind knowing that someone else must deprive themselves of sleep in order to respond to it!

Life is complicated.

I don't know what it'd be like to be a parent. Overprotective parents seem so annoying to me now but I know that when I'm older I'll be super-paranoid about my kids. What goes around, comes around, I guess. Or what came around will go around again. Or something.

Goodnight!

I mean, Good Morning!
Happy Hunting!
