Black Screen
« on: November 22, 2010, 11:29:37 PM »
Ok, this is getting serious ;). Re-installed GCCG, but still the black screen is turning up. The weird thing is that the command Ctrl Q is still working and the mouse cursor appears to be the same as in the program. Any ideas?

Do you run on a Mac or a PC?

If it is the PC, I will make the same recommendation that Kralik seems to make...go into the C Drive --> ./gccg --> Whatever the next folder and delete the "history" file.

If that doesn't work, delete everything except for username and save. You'll have to rebuild your decks though.

Actually, C:\.gccg. Seems like every so often it gets corrupted, so it's worth a shot.

If you get it working, you can copy files back individually from your backup and restore yours decks. Isn't it the history file that most often is the cause...?

History gave me problems sometimes when I played on the PC.

Try installing and running a different game. MTG maybe. If you encounter the same issue, that may suggest a problem outside of GCCG. Maybe an antivirus or a firewall of some kind. I really can't think of something else. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable in the ways of how GCCG works might tell you what resources GCCG needs and where it might encounter such problems.

Do not reinstall the game, remove c:\.gccg as mentioned above.

I recommend making a backup before deleting the directory and then trying with a new username. If that works, you can restore your old username/password files and should be OK.
