I haven't been addicted to playing GCCG as much as in the old days, but I'd hate to see everyone else lose out. But here's a thought (stirring up the waters):

That PC conversation that keeps going around in circles? If GCCG is tied to TLHH, why not just have a GCCG/TLHH Player's Group?

yep.. so integrate tlhh and gccg.. i would say

I want to play CGGC but I can't seem to get it to work with my iMAC...
I hope it doesn't end.  I am working in South Korea and the only people I have to play with here are ones that I get started on the game and then give then tons of cards!

I have been playing LotR forever now but just recently found these forums.  I hope it all doesn't end...

What can we do to keep both GCCG and the forums around?
We all have a part to play~

The card database is the most important part of the site to me.  If it were going to go down I'd want to know ahead of time so I could save a copy of each image.

I have also found the boards to be great.  I'm not a big message board person, so I don't post a ton.  But, I do check this site daily and read other people's posts.  Also, I have been able to complete multiple trades on here and also make some posts in the deck-building forums.

I would miss this site immensely if it were gone.

The card reference is incredibly important. At a minimum, I'd like to keep those up. Since I have a web hosting provider with lots of available storage space, I will commit to hosting the "static" card pages. I know I can do that.

The forums would be nice, too. On my current page, I may or may not be able to take the forums, though.

I can't take GCCG, though - it's a separate server from my control.

Well, this is certainly sad to see happening.

I remember when I found CobraCards and I was so excited to find someone else to actually talk about this game, before I founded my playgroup. I do not consider myself to be one of the "old guys", but being brought from CC to here isn't something that has happened to everyone (though I still have like half the posts of some newer guys).

I have my loyal playgroup here in Chile with who I play fairly regularly. I think it's enough, so I don't use GCCG. I check the forums daily for decks mainly, rules sometimes, the database, and just general discussion which I find entertaining. The people here are awesome, which I believe is the main reason I'd be sad if I knew this was going to die. There are some great discussions, and people here are both funny and intelligent and nice which is certainly something you can't find in any forum. The fact that almost the whole boards are about Tolkien and LOTR makes it just better.

So there it is. Believe me when I say I would be sad if these boards were going to die, not only because of the awesome resources, but mostly because of the people here, and the very good enviroment you feel when you get here and read a few threads.

Even tho I come in here just once in a while, it would be freakin devastating to see this last corner of the internet for LOTR TCG going away... as well as GCCG, which I don't play for some time, but it's good to know I can hang around if I want.

Do you guys need donations and stuff? I could definitely contribute with PayPal money, and I'm sure most people here would be able too as well.

Ulmo and I use to play at lunch all the time, but we no longer work in the same building so I never really get to play anymore. Today, I just pulled out my basic decks and I was thinking about jazzing them up a bit and tearing apart all of my ultra competitive decks. I've even thought about selling all of my Hunter, Ros and T&D cards, but it took me so long to complete the collection, it would be a shame to part with them.  Completing my collection would not have been possible if it wasn't for TLHH. I still drop in all the time to look for deck ideas and rule clarifications.  I am also excited about the new LoTR LCG that is coming out shortly.  I have been playing the Warhammer LCG with some of my board-game buddies, but I'm only doing that to introduce them to collectable card games, because Warhammer is a simpler game to learn than LoRT TCG.  My eventual goal is to introduce them to the LoTR TCG.

I'd also be willing to make a donation to keep TLHH up and going.  I don't post that much, but I browse the forum all the time.  It is the only resource I use for LoTR TCG information.

I wouldn't be worried about TLHH disappearing as long as there are people who want the site to be here. I hadn't planned to close up shop unless activity gets significantly lower -- and even then I'd probably give it a year after the last post. :P

As for donations -- I'm rather opposed to any money changing hands for what is essentially a hobby of mine. I'm just trying to gauge the interest to consider whether I should host GCCG or not. If I can merge the hosting (TLHH+GCCG), all the better.

I would be very sad to see this site go; though I normally just lurk around and post every once in a while, I could still lose myself in the site for a good time! Where else would I, or any one else here, find a community like this? :( As for the merging, that sounds like a pretty perfect idea, if it can be done lol.

I'm still organizing each month LOTR tournament which collect in average 8-10 players each month (and with a National about 25 players).
I'm not very active on this forum, but I'm an active GCCG player and it's the best way to continue to play this amazing game.

See you soon in France ;).

Enola, you are an energy well. Managing that much Tournaments is exerting - but good to hear!

Thank you, Kralik, for this poll.

The only active game I'm playing is L5R and I'll even be ending that this fall.  I still enjoy stopping by and checking on things every week or so, but I don't really post (never was all that active).  I think it's definitely worth keeping the site up even for the little activity there is.  I'll probably never part with the cards  :)

This was a tough vote for me, because LotR is a game I know I'll always come back to at some point or another, but I haven't played it at all lately.  By the definitions offered in the poll, I could only go with, "I'm moving on in life" (just 'cause I haven't checked posts here in quite some time).

However, I don't think the "moving on" vote is truly indicative of my feelings regarding TLHH.  Like I said, I always know I'll be back some day, and when I do, it'd be nice to find there's still a community hanging around.

So the answer is:  yes, I think it's important to keep TLHH around (especially since this is really the only remaining LotR TCG community, as far as I know), even if I'm guilty of ignoring it lately.

Same here!

I enjoyed a lot the time i was more active at TLHH and GCCG, and i would not like to see it dying, but sadly i can't even promise i will do my part to keep it running  :(
