Dual Response
« on: April 22, 2011, 10:18:03 PM »
So my Gollum wins a skirmish and I spot 2 exhausted companions.  I want to kill both so I play 2 Your A Liar and a Thief.  Is that possible?  It doesn't seem like it should be as by the time you play the second event your no longer responding to the original action of winning the skirmish but to the event.  Someone explain please.

This has been answered here, here, here, here, and a few more.

I recommend you read The CRD's ruling on "Response" actions and probably everything else in the CRD as well.

Negative :gp: for not being resourceful.

Again locating these said resources or explain how to find them.  How do you get answers from the search engine, every time I use it I get nothing.  Negative gold for not being helpful.  Also the CRD option doesn't clarify whether you are able to respond twice to the same thing.

Yes. You can respond more than once to a trigger.

Yeah, what the #$&*@! ever. I linked you to the answer in three different places and directed you to the CRD (which, as a reminder, is #$&*@! stickied).

Maybe rather than searching, "Can you use multiple response actions such as in the case of You're A Liar and a Thief" or "How exactly does Merry's Sword work because I am unclear on the mechanics of this particular card" you should try searching things like, "Response actions" or "Merry's Sword."

As the rest of the site has no problem using the search function, I will presume that it is no flaw in the search engine itself and rather a flaw of your competence.

P.S., I look forward to a moderator getting a hold of this one.

Quote from: The CRD, Page 15
You may respond more than once to the same situation.

Direct #$&*@! quote. Jesus Christ.

FYI, I didn't search such a specific field.  I did indeed search for what you recommended.  Also it would be nice if you didn't feel the need to blow up after my third question.  Thank you and have a nice day.  I believe that you also may have a flaw in your anger management issues.  Also if you had been 'resourceful' you would have noticed that I do indeed search for terms such as 'response action', 'Merry's Sword'.  ie: http://lotrtcgwiki.com/forums/index.php/topic,6972.0.html

"Resourceful"? "Helpful"? Excuse me, ket has a serious anger management problem and is an all-around resident jerk (no offense, ket), sure, but he ACTUALLY LINKED FOUR ANSWERS to your question, PLUS THE COMPREHENSIVE RULES that you insist in not being able to locate, in his first reply. I had a couple of problems with the search engine as well, try going INTO the subforum you want and using the search engine THERE, it tends to get better results than using the main page.

:gp: FM, although I disagree with the anger management sentiment. If anything, I cannot abide uselessness. I said the same thing to Kev-La in his time: "Respect is earned."

The resident jerk part is more-or-less true, although between Haszor and Tbiesty tanking my gold on this topic [-6 total], apparently enough people thought I was right enough to even out the results. Anyways, this really isn't for this topic and this could probably just be closed. The question was answered [again] and running consensus is that I am a #$&*@!. All is right in the world.
