American Cancer Society - Relay For Life

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I don't know if this is the right forum for this or even if it's allowed (and if it's not, mods please delete and PM me to discuss - thanks!), but I wanted to quickly mention an event that I'm volunteering myself for in late June.

The American Cancer Society is holding a Relay For Life event at the Lake Forest Hospital (Lake Forest IL) from 6pm to 6am on Saturday and Sunday June 25-26th (that's right, overnight!). Part of being a part of the event and a team captain involves raising funds for the fight against cancer, which is why I am posting this today.

I started a team for the two universities I'm involved with (I work at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago and I attend grad school at North Park University in Chicago) after a cancer researcher in my department at RFU told me about it and suggested I start a team for the school (he has a research grant from the ACS and started a team for his community).

If cancer has touched your life in some way, please consider making a donation to the event so that they can continue their mission, creating more birthdays. If you like, you can purchase a Luminaria in honor of or in memory of a loved one which will be displayed at the event (please PM me for more details).
