X-Men
« on: June 08, 2011, 11:40:00 PM »
So I've seen the film, and I loved it. I am no expert on the whole X-Men story/plotlines, so I have ordered some comics to learn more about them. I was wondering 1 thing, maybe there are experts on this forums.

Spoiler alert
At the end of the movie we seen that Magneto and Charles Xavier both go their own way. We see Xavier ending up in the wheelchair and starting his own school. I was wondering..is there logic in the movies compaired to the 'real story'? I remember an earlier movie where Jean Grey is picked up from her house by both Erik and Charles, Charles still walking if I remember correctly....

Anyone?

There were several inconsistencies between X-Men: First Class and the other X-Men movies. But as a stand-alone film, I thought First Class was pretty good. It's nothing like the comics and there were very few consistencies with the comic as well but it was a fun movie.

Yes, I am a big X-Men nerd so go ahead and fire away any other questions.

Are you sure you don't want to direct them to a X-men fan site and have them use the search function to get the answers .

Thanks Heije. I have yet to see the movie and now you've ruined it. I have no reason to even go see the movie now, way to go bro. J/K of course, I'm not a huge X-men fan (or any kind of comic to movie fan for that matter),  but I still get stuck watching nearly ever one that is released cause my kids, mostly my son, loves them and I'm the lucky parent that get to take them to the movies to watch them. BTW when was Professor X ever in a wheelchair? I see him walking around blasting people with his eye all the time. Again just kidding, I know Professor X is the guy with the metal bones and claws .

First Class is supposed to be a reboot, is it not?

That's why I said "short answer is no." There are aspects of both being a reboot and a prequel. The film contains scenes that were recreated from the other X-Men movies and Bryan Singer has said that it is meant to fit in the same universe.

i didn't especially enjoy it. my ticket was $5 though. so i can't complain.

angel or whoever, the fly lady, she was dumb. i mean acidic spit? really?
mystique was good. her relationship with beast and magnito was very good.
the demon guy was just like nightcrawler, so that was kinda dumb.

Agreed on both Angel and Azazel..... You must know that I don't think it is Oscar material, but in this genre, I just loved it ;)

Intereeesting. I'm seeing the movie tomorrow, hoping it'll be good. Not quite sure what to expect really, all this critical reception stuff is greenlighted, but there are individuals out there who say it was boring. Not many of them though. They're like the people who said The Dark Knight was a one-trick pony. Few, but noisy. And ultimately, defeated by the tide of fans....:)
