I bought it a couple of month's ago and I'm dying to play it, but I haven't had a chance to yet.   All I can say thus far is the box and game components are very nice.

Lots of information here, hope it helps:

This is one of my absolute favorite games, and a must-have for the Tolkien fan. It thematically does a very good job of marrying the themes for each side (the desparate push for the free peoples, and the crushing military for the Shadow). Because of the way event cards are used, the same strategy won't always work for each player so you do have adjust on the fly. And they all add good thematic points to the game.

I'd plan 4-5 hours for your first play, and be ready to spend 40 minutes for the first setup. It moves a lot faster once you know the map layout and understand the way the nations are distributed, but that may take a game or two (if not for you, for your not-as-big-a-Tolkien-reader opponent).

But I highly recommend it- one of my absolute favorite games.

Thanks Tallgrant, it always looks very appealing to me, but the price is high, and not always do the looks match the fun...but I will consider to buy now...

In summer, Phalanx releases the Deluxe Version - which will cost about 200€. It looks awesome!

No problem- it's a decision that you have to make where your dollars get invested. I will say that you won't get so many rare cards in your set

But to me it was really worth the price. Then again, I've got 90+ board games and am just starting to dip my toes into the CCG pool (hence my presence here).

If you were anywhere near Texas I'd be happy to break it out for ya, but otherwise its a bit out of your way.
