I'd like to take this opportunity to brag.
« on: July 02, 2011, 11:29:51 AM »
I found a hobby store one town over that has a full stock of LotR cards (and Decipher's old SWCCG!). I bought a Fellowship box for $30 yesterday, and plan on filling out the thinner parts of my collection throughout the summer!

Wooooo!

I'm pretty close. In fact - and with exception to Hunters block - I nearly have a complete playset for the whole game.

It's my secret, sorry.  ;) I made the mistake years ago of letting somebody know about a source of cards, and they wound up buying all of it.

I just picked up the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions on Blu Ray. I think I win.

I think you just lost some gold for being a smarty-pants. Stay on-topic or you'll be gold poor before you know it.

If a Balrog falls from a bridge and noone is around, does it make a sound?

Thumbs up for being a good citizen and making a citizen's arrest .

Having a collection which makes you feel wealthy is important.

It's not important if the collections of all the other collectors are wealthier.

It kinda is, though, if you think about it. If you have a foil Goblin Armory and every single other person has 4, than that means it's probably not that hard to come by it, so you wouldn't be entitled to feeling wealthy for having one. You could, but you'd just be kidding yourself.

I have four...where is OneFathom to say he has 15?

I don't think I'll need boxes of Farmer Maggots to feel wealthy in my collection, even though someone else has that many

Although I feel fortunate looking at my collection, regardless of its worth (not much), I doubt I'll ever get back what I spent on it. LotR TCG would not be my idea of a good monetary investment. But it's not like I bought these cards for that, and I value my collection even if its "worth" is little.

Pretty much sums it up best, right here, from Elessar's Socks.  I don't think I've ever once wished I didn't spend the money on my cards because I've enjoyed them so much, and I continue to.  Well put, E.S.
