Shortcut Bar
« on: September 05, 2008, 04:43:08 PM »
I've created a simple, unobtrusive shortcut bar at the top of the forum. If you like it, let me know and I will copy it to the rest of the site (i.e. CC and the card pages). I was thinking that a universal navigational tool would be helpful. People have been asking about a quick way to get to the DB from the forums as well.

I've tested it down to 800x600 resolution... any less than that, and it probably won't fit. Also, it is just a teensy bit hard to read if you're using the Hobbit theme.

Let me know what you think!

Woah... I logged on, and thought "what the heck is wrong with my browser? It's got a string of numbers up top... oh... wait... Cool!"

I like it there. Very nice.
Would probably be nice to have on CC, too. Not sure if it needs to be on the card pages, though; those are probably easily enough jumped around in as it is.

  Thanks a million!
Forget it. I'm not arguing with the computer anymore to try to get the sig I want....

I'm shooting for uniformity, but only if people like it enough to keep it. :) Any suggestions?

Actually, looking back at it again, might as well put it on the individual card pages, too, since it does have the forum links on there as well.

Oh, and if you keep it (which I can 100% guarantee you everyone will want) could probably get rid of the "To CC" on the forum menu bar (meaning the menu bar with Log In/Out, Members, Profile, etc)

Kudos, have some :gp:

Enough people like it that I'll assume it's OK with the majority. :P It is now universal.

Done!

Funny enough, that was my initial reaction as well. :P

ONE tiny little itty bitty thing: could the text for it in The Hobbit theme be white instead of black? Not a big deal, but it might look a little better that way. Either white or the light khaki used by the main forum boxes and all in the theme.
Best regards,
Dáin

Yeah, I knew the Hobbit theme in particular looks a little off. I might be able to change it, but give me some time... it's just inheriting the default theme colors for links and I'd probably have to write up a new stylesheet to get it to work.

Ah, THAT'S why I was having so much trouble finding it.

I used to be a wiz with stylesheets and code...but it has grown and I have not. Now I feel like butter spread over too much bread when I try to poke at it too much.

I got it to work! The colors should match the rest of the theme. :)

Hey, you did it! \:D/

Now did you ever figure out why the "The Last Homely House", the squiggly bar underneath it, and the PM/unread posts notification never all line up properly? :P
Best regards,
Dáin
