promise keeping vs wound prevention
« on: September 18, 2011, 05:38:49 AM »
Sorry, I tried 2 times the search function and I am somewhat in a bad mood. Not due to the game, but, well....whatever. If someone wounds my companion, and I prevent that wound, does promise keeping still exerts? I guess not, since there is no wound. He claims it to be the same as with morgul destroyers, if I prevent the wound, there are still 2 threats, but I think it is deifferent. If it is not, it is plain stupid.

I agree with your interpretation: your response (preventing the wound) happens before abilities can trigger off of the wound, so the wound never happens.

Agreed. The Morgul Destroyer is different, because there it's an either/or situation, where if you don't take a wound you have to add two threats. This bears no comparison to that.

Preventing a wound voids Promise Keeping.
Morgul Destroyer adds 2 threats. if you choose to wound, you prevent that. No wound = 2 threats.
