Discard Orcs
« on: April 19, 2012, 07:53:36 AM »
Here is a cool minion strategy I've been playing around with.  Now that I've started with GCCG, I've been able to expand it some.

2x Fires and Foul Fumes
3x Gnawing, Biting, Hacking, Burning
2x Hollowing of Isengard
1x Scaffolding
3x Servants to Saruman
2x Isengard Artisan
3x Isengard Axe
2x Isengard Builder
2x Isengard Journeyman
4x Isengard Mechanics
3x Isengard Plodder
1x Isengard Smith
2x Isengard Tender
2x Isengard Warrior

Any advice would be helpful.  I've tried to go with the cheaper alternatives and mix things up, to try a bit of swarm here.

I've played a lot of Isengard Orcs, but never pure discarding. I always felt like you wouldn't be using Isengard Orcs full potential. But I'll give it a try. I never got Hollowing if Isengard to work, so I'd take them out. Add a 4th Servants of Isengard. Isengard orcs are cheap, and with that little bit of swarm feeling that you're after, you will almost be guaranteed a +3 strength. Isengard Mechanics is good, but costs a lot. Considered taking a copy or two out and replacing it with Shotgun Enquea? You'll never have any problems cycling with Isengard orcs, so consider adding another minion or two. (I'm almost always through the deck by site 7-8). If you want, I can post my own Isengard Orc Shadow?

Correction: Not Servants of Isengard, I meant Servants to Saruman

Adding in a few of the ROTEL Orcs can't hurt. Isengard Retainer, Isengard Servant, etc. Ideally you'll be able to get in a few extra wounds with their exertions, then you can discard them with the EOF Orcs.
All cards do what they say, no more, no less.

Yes, if you want to post your deck, feel free to do so.  I've always wanted to perfect this deck.

Here is my poorman's version of a rohan/gandalf deck from TT, until I can get some more funding to buy Simbelmyne and few others, this is what I"ve got to work with.

1x The One Ring, AtAR
1x Frodo, Courteous Halfling
1x Sam, SoH
2x Gandalf, TWW
1x Eowyn, DoE
2x Eomer, ST
1x Rohirrim Army
1x Hrethel, Rider of Rohan
2x Elite Rider

1x Bounder
1x Deor

2x Hobbit Sword
2x Brego
2x Rohirrim Shield
2x Rohirrim Javelin
1x Rohirrim Helm
2x Rohirrim Bow
1x Rider's Mount

1x Arrow Slits
4x An Honorable Charge
1x Deep in Thought
2x Have Patience
1x Trust Me as You Once Did

I know it's rather incomplete, but I"m going for cheaper now until I can get some of the better cards in here.
