I just started, and I can't really play more than 1 hour a day, though I'm enjoying my Demon Hunter so far, except for the fact that he seemed ALL AWESOME in the hero selection screen, and then lost all gear as soon as I selected him, and now I can't find another hand crossbow to dual wield and can't actually dual wield anything else. Good thing I bought myself a vampiric bow and found a magic quiver (what an awesome idea, btw), made me slightly less pissed. Seems I can also craft items now, and THERE I can see handcrossbows, so hopefully I'll be back on track soon enough, dual wielding guns.
Also, what the #$&*@! does "+2 random magical properties" mean, in the crafting section? The guy crafts a RANDOM item? Doesn't that... I don't know... suck? Like, he can craft me a handcrossbow that adds STRENGTH?

No one else? Really? Out of all we nerds, just us two? Too bad...

I just killed Leoric (is this even the right way to say it?), and I'm starting to grasp the concepts of crafting, though I got cheated by the Smith that volunteered to make a "handcrossbow" and made me a "light crossbow", a world of difference. Should have checked the pic, though, it did show a light crossbow. At least I managed to buy a nice handcrossbow, and find a regular one (but still better than the starting one), so I'm on my way to dual-wielding guns like the old wild west again.

I've just hit level 10, and got a Templar companion, though the turd tried to mooch my rare shield off of me (ok, the game told me I could equip him with it, but they're all together in this, as part of the same plot!), so to resist the temptation I broke the shiled down for components, much to the chagrin of my wife who wanted me to keep it (it was my first rare item ever, after all, and a darned good shield, to say the least).

So far, I like what I'm seeing, though the invisibility ability kinda sucks (I'm sure it'll be invaluable when I'm level 60, in PVP, able to one-shot people with a good flurry of arrows).

I cant tell you much about the demon hunter, but I would advise is mostly kepeing up the cash and looking on the auction house to whatever you need.

Yes, it seems to be the popular trend. Of course, as you can see, I'm just starting out, so Auction House is not exactly for me yet, but I figure that once I hit late Nightmare or #$&*@!, that's probably going to be my course of action, although I'm not familiar with how it's going to be with gold/dollars in it, like, will a bid in dollars always cover one in gold? Is there an exchange rate? Does the seller choose, gold only, money only, or either? Stuff like this.
So far, the Demon Hunter seems like a big Glass Cannon. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in dual-wielding, it's almost exclusively better to simply pack a quiver, even with a hand crossbow (God knows why this even work), since every quiver I've seen so far has attack speed + 10%, which not only is huge (seriously, what kind of bonus is this for a 6th-level character?), but more than makes up for the 15% speed augment in dual-wielding, plus your second handcrossbow might suck, or not be quite on par with the main, and it does not actually add up the stats, it attacks separately (which makes sense, of course).

There are two houses. One for gamegold, and one for money. An item on one auction isnt on the other.

I see. I was under the impression that, if that was the case, "good" items would never wind up in the gold auction house, like item sets and legendaryesque (not brown, but as good as or better that it magic items) stuff. I'd love to be wrong on this, though, as I can't see myself ever paying real cash for a Diablo III item. So, am I?

Like many of my friends, I bought Diablo III, played it for 2 weeks, found it repetitive, and haven't returned since. Kind of disappointed, tbh. What did you guys think?

Well, I'm a casual gamer, so I have just cleared normal difficulty with my Demon Hunter and farmed the Staff of Herding to get to Whimsyshire. I understand that going back to nightmare will be kind of repetitive, though DIablo is all about farming that one perfect piece of gear. I've already started a Wizard and Witch Doctor, and I'm still kind of having fun farming materials to upgrade the Jeweler (the Smith requires Tomes already, so it's a no go), messing around with the other classes, and such. Perhaps it might get boring once we get to Inferno (we're a group of casual gamers, so one of the reasons I just cleared Normal is that we keep going back to play with whoever is the most behind) and farming becomes mechanical, but then there is Hardcore mode and all, so, not really disappointed so far. Also, PVP might be fun, and there's always an expansion (or two... one can dream...).
