I'm a big Boromir fan, probably because I'm a big Sean Bean fan, from back in the days of Sharpe. Ever since LOTR TCG was first created, I've perpetually been out to find/create the best Boromir-kicking-arse deck possible.
So, I was pretty excited when
Bearer of Council came out:
http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr09031...but it quickly became apparent that using him as your ringbearer generally means you have to avoid letting him kick arse.
THEN
Guardian and
Sword of Boromir came out:
http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr12050http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr12042At first I got excited, thinking this was a way to circumvent
BoC's text "at the start of each skirmish involving him," but then I thought maybe not, because I thought the start of each skirmish involving him would be at whatever point he actually starts to fight, after he replaces somebody.
But THEN I read this in the 8/13/2007 Current Rulings:
replace
A character that is replaced in a skirmish by
another character is removed from that skirmish.
The
skirmish continues with the new character.
It
does not start over.
So, am I correct in thinking that these two cards specifically allow Boromir to skirmish without getting hit with his "start of each skirmish" penalty text?
ETA: WOW, this board software automagically detects and links to cards based on keywords used in the post! That is amazing!!!
