Going to Germany
« on: August 18, 2012, 08:52:46 AM »
Sup forums! I used to be pretty active here a few years ago, stopped playing LotR, started playing MTG, and since then I've started playing LotR again with my friends.
Anyway, because of my interest in travel, Germany, and to gain a new perspective on life, I decided about a year and a half ago that I wanted to be an exchange student to Germany.

I'll be living in Hohen Neuendorf, Brandenburg, just outside of Berlin, and I'll be going to school in Berlin.

I'd appreciate any advice from those who have lived or are living in Germany/Europe about what to pack, prepare for, etc, and also comments or ideas.

Also, check out my blog!

The only advice I've heard, is don't make Nazi jokes. Whatever you do, DON'T MENTION THE WAR!!!

Damned moose head.

Just yesterday I was talking to a German girl and we had a good conversation about the war, so just don't be rude and you'll be fine. Berlin is considered to be one of the most 'hip' places to go to these days. Exciting times though to come, since the Eurocrisis is dominant issue. Germany has a big role in the whole thing, since they are the biggest economic power in Europe. There is a lot of critisism though, since the German economy is growing smaller and the aid to the Euro is costing a lot. So when you are studying either Economics or Politics, you'll be in the sweetspot.
