Deep In Thoght question

Deep in Thought says to spot 4 twilight tokens to discard all conditions. However, it costs 4 twilight tokens to play. Does this mean I can spot the 4 twilight tokens per the cards cost to get the effect?

No, you must spot four twilight tokens to play the card. A lot of people try to manipulate the twilight pool in the maneuver phase with cards like Roll of Thunder and Mithrandir, Mithrandir!
