Gimli BoG (2 questions)
« on: August 11, 2013, 11:03:00 PM »
Hi all, just got Gimli, Bearer of Grudges and have a couple questions regarding his usage:
1. Can I use Counts But One "If Gimli is not assigned to a skirmish, add a threat to have him replace an unbound companion in a skirmish" to circumvent the 2 burden/2 threat skirmish cost Gimli has while he is bearing the Ring? The CRD from August 2007 says that replacing a companion in a skirmish does not start the skirmish over.
2. Can I use Legolas, Elven Comrade's game text to give ringbearer Gimli +2 strength, or can I not use Legolas' text because RB Gimli is Ringbound? Can I use Legolas' text on Gimli if he is not bearing the Ring?

Thanks for the help!

1) Yes, this gets around Gimli's penalty.
2) Gimli is Ring-bound while bearing the Ring, so Legolas won't work on him. If Gimli is just a regular companion, then yes, Legolas will work. But in that case, you'd be better off with a more useful Gimli.
All cards do what they say, no more, no less.

Awesome, thanks for the help! Yeah I've got a better Gimli too, I just wanted to check if it was possible. Thanks!
