Discard "all" and "every" Condition
« on: May 13, 2014, 04:13:39 AM »
So the text for cards such as Saruman's Power, and Sleep, Caradhras have different texts, but does that mean they have different meanings as well? Sleep, Caradhras says to "discard every condition" which the notes says that only active conditions would be discarded, which to my understanding would mean all free peoples conditions that the owner of Sleep, Caradhras has, and all shadow conditions by the other 1-3 players in the game.

But, Saruman's Power says to "discard all conditions". Does this mean every condition on the board gets wiped, regardless of it being free people's or shadow?
If we're gonna play games, I'm gonna need a cup of coffee.

No, every and all mean the same thing.

Sleep, Caradhras says to "discard every condition" which the notes says that only active conditions would be discarded, which to my understanding would mean all free peoples conditions that the owner of Sleep, Caradhras has, and all shadow conditions by the other 1-3 players in the game.

This is true.

But, Saruman's Power says to "discard all conditions". Does this mean every condition on the board gets wiped, regardless of it being free people's or shadow?

To my knowledge, if you are the free peoples player your shadow cards are technically not in play.  Same the other way around.  So when Sarumans Power is played only his shadow cards and your free peoples conditions would be discarded.

Hope this helps

Right, this is how I thought it went too, but I thought to myself "how sweet would it be if Saruman's Power was so powerful that it actually wiped everything off the table". Might be a tad OP, but I mean, it is called Saruman's "Power" for a reason.
