If you went to a tournament now, what do you think would make cool prize support?

FE, TT, or ROTK booster boxes.
Masterworks or Legends foil cards from the last 3 sets.

:)

Anything else would be hard to separate too cheap from too valuable.

How about

War of the Ring Anthology?
Countdown to the King promo with Binder?
Reflections boosters/box?
Several boxes of core sets ie Shadows, RotK?

What is with all these threads about tourney prizes and Hunters anthologies and such. This is getting hopes up about things that aren't going to happen. Maybe the tournaments are still around but I doubt Decipher is going to anything else with the game, EVER. Don't get me wrong I would love to see this game continued and with all new stuff, but the fact is Decipher has abandoned this game like they have all their others and like they will with anything new they produce (Fight Klub included).

Our discussions have nothing to do with decipher. At this point, if we want something to happen it's up to us to make it happen.

We're here, so we might as well discuss these things instead of sitting around with our thumbs you know where and let all interest in this game die forever.

Hey I like sitting around with my thumb...uh nevermind. Anyway I was just saying that it would be nice to see these tournament more frequently, but the fact of the matter is we legally can't do anything about a Hunters anthology. If there is a tournament set up in my area I would definitely love to be there and we wouldn't even need prizes. I would just love to have a group of people around that play on a more regular basis . No back to my thumb sitting, LOL.

Elrohir and I are talking about European tournaments so I was wondering what we could use as prize support. HP is right, its hard to find a balance between a prize that will be "oh, thats it..." and "this cost me lots and lots to get... I think I will keep it for myself"

But its still fun talking about what would be in it.

I go with NK: the best thing is get people togheter and have fun playing this awesome game! No matter what the prizes are (or if they even exist). However i agree that having some sort of prize and ranking atract more people in and gives it a more "serious tourney" face.

My sugestion is: put some boosters from the sets you can get as prizes and charge a cheap value for registration and then make some public ranking with the results, maybe you can even use TLHH for this purpose. That way people will try their best to do well but they can manage to have fun anyway, spending few bucks (that wouldn´t hurt their pockets so much if they can´t win a single booster).

The more you make the tourney look formal the more people will take it seriosly (even that has no "official" support).

booster boxes sound like a good idea. I have about 20 rotk boxes and will be in europe from the 9th of oct to the 17th. So let me know if you want to buy some :)

Also promo countdown binder is cool. I think the best though would be like some foil sets from the last few sets or 50 rare cards or something like that.
