The next Grand Tournament in the UK
« on: October 05, 2008, 05:24:11 AM »
Hello my fellow Brits and Europeans (and any others who woud like to join)

I want to get some idea of the support for the event, and when everyone would be able to do it. If Manchester works for everyone then lets keep it there, otherwise we can discuss alternatives.

I'm obviously very keen for this to happen but the next couple of weeks are too busy for me to think about when a good time would be. November perhaps.

November 10-17th would be excellent for me as I'm off work and Uni.

Okay, November 16th looks great for me. I could also do the 9th or 23rd of November.

No that I'm succesfully married, I think it's time to start planning this properly.

TheJord, you seem to be keen on this. What do you think our next steps should be? Do you want to contact the usual suspects (assuming they don't read this thread)?

Yeah lets contact those who would be interested. Lets see if we can get some of the players from mainland Europe to come along.

EDIT: Congrats on getting married!

We also need to decide what formats we want to play. Another draft would be cool, and I can get some sealed boxes, including T&D, Reflections and Hunters.

I think Standard constructed plus a draft would be great. How exactly we get a draft to work is another matter, unless we all start with Ages End again...

I don't really want more Age's End cards - I hate the set enough as it is! ;)

I am also free on the 16th and 23rd, by the way.

We could get a range of starters and do a draft with Shadows block boosters. I could... at a stretch... pull out some EDD boxes, but I would need help paying for them all.

Perhaps I should have a word with Fanboy3 and see what they can get us. Perhaps they can get hold of some starter decks as well as booster boxes.

The 16th I cannot do, I am in Cardiff, so is the 23rd good for everyone?
